Museo Amedeo Lia, Via del Prione, La Spezia, SP, Italia
The "Amedeo Lia" museum, estabilished in 1995 and opened in 1996, is located in the old convent of the minimites of St. Francis from Paola, who settled in the town of la Spezia in about 1620. The building of the convent and successively the church began in 1616, the date when the land was granted to the monks by the Community of La Spezia.
The collection includes about 1000 works of all kinds, classical, late antique, mediaeval, up to the 18th century. There are paintings, miniatures, bronze, copper, ivory and wooden statues, glassware, tin-glazed pottery and art objects which document the taste and culture of Italian and European art.
